Stockport LGBT History Month 2010
Claiming our history, celebrating our present, creating our future!
The following events are planned for February 2010:
- Monday 1st 5:30-8pm at Theatre B, Stockport College
Launch event - John Amaechi - Learn, Adapt, Grow - A talk to inspire you and a presentation from The Base Youth Group on the history of famous LGBT people
- Wednesday 3rd all day outside Stepping Hill Hospital's Staff Canteen
LGBT awareness raising stand and information - join in and do our quiz
- Thursday 4th 5-8pm at Diverse City
Open evening for youth service groups with karaoke, food, music, quizzes, celebration of LGBT people. More details from Connexions on 0161 475 7700
- Tuesday 9th 5:30-7:30pm at Blackshaw's Cafe, Market Place
HIV/AIDS working in the UK and Africa speaker from Body Positive and Age Concern - Information, question and answer session
- Wednesday 10th 6-8pm at Diverse City
LGBT Parenting event - celebrate our parenting, get information and support for LGBT parents and wannabe parents. More details from Connexions on 0161 475 7700
- Wednesday 10th 7:30pm at Arden Arms, Millgate
People Like Us Stockport Social Night
- Saturday 13th 11am February meeting outside Wellbeing Centre, Chestergate
Heritage walk - tour Stockport's history spots followed by refreshments
- Sunday 14th at Stockport Plaza, Mersey Square

- Saturday 27th 1-4pm at Air Raid Shelters, Great Underbank
RAID! Gay life pre-war, wartime and today - exploring experiences through reminiscence, song, object handling and anecdotes
- Saturday 27th 6:30pm at Arden Arms, Millgate
Grand finale with guest speaker Stephen Whittle, refeshments, buffet and raffle draw
